Clients’ Security Fund
The Clients’ Security Fund was created by The Florida Bar to help compensate people who have suffered a loss of money or property due to misuse or embezzlement by an attorney.
Follow these steps before filing a claim.
- Is the attorney currently eligible to practice law? Not sure?
Use the Find A Lawyer search to determine eligibility status.
- If the attorney is not eligible to practice law, read the Clients’ Security Fund Frequently Asked Questions with claim form.
- If the attorney is eligible to practice law, have you filed a bar grievance?
If yes, read the Clients’ Security Fund Frequently Asked Questions with claim form.If no, you would need to file a grievance with ACAP before you submit a claim to the fund.
The Clients’ Security Fund will not consider a claim against a member who is in good standing and eligible to practice law. Discipline in the form of a suspension, disbarment or revocation is a prerequisite to a claim being considered unless the attorney is deceased.
